AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT
SunRail is committed to making travel on the system easy and convenient for persons with disabilities.
BUYING A TICKET
SunRail will feature state-of-the-art ticket vending machines (TVMs). Each TVM is ADA compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), with operating controls identified and labeled in Braille. Each TVM also features a voice module with easy-to-follow interactive audio instructions.
PAYING YOUR SUNRAIL FARE. TAP ON. TAP OFF.
SunRail fare cards can be purchased at each SunRail station. After purchase, simply tap your card at a nearby validation machine and board the train. This is called "tapping on." When you arrive at your destination, tap your card on the validator as you exit. This is called "tapping off." You can also reload an existing card in person or online.
ADA VEHICLE AMENITIES
SunRail features coaches and cab cars that are compliant with the ADA.
BOARDING THE TRAIN
Mini-high platform ramps make boarding SunRail easy for persons with disabilities.
SunRail trains will also be equipped with wheelchair lifts and audio enhancements. Each lift is 30" wide and 48" long. A conductor will be on board all SunRail trains.
FLIP UP SEATS
SunRail trains will have flip up seats that will accommodate passengers who use wheelchairs or bicycles throughout the lower level.
SunRail provides accessible restrooms that include grab bars and sinks with lever-operated faucets.
